Basic Allowance For Housing (BAH)
Your BAH will be used in one of two ways. You can either rent on base or you can live off base. If you live off base, you can either rent or buy. Click Here for current BAH rates.
On Base Housing ( Rent On-Base )
You can contact the housing office at 850-623-7605. Please keep in mind that there is a process involved in renting on Base housing to include wait times.
Off Base Single Family Rentals-You can choose to rent off base if you wish. Check our database for available single-family homes.

Naval Air Station Whiting Field is home to two airfields which serve as flight training venues for student aviators who fly the T-34C Turbo Mentor and Advanced Helicopter Training in the TH-57 Sea Ranger. Naval Air Station Whiting Field is one of the busiest air stations in the world with just under 50 percent of the Chief of Naval Command’s total flight time spent here. NAS Whiting Field provides support for the Marine Corps, Air Force, U.S. Navy, and Coast Guard. NAS Whiting Field is located near Milton, Florida. There are no Dodos schools located at NAS Whiting Field but nearby Santa Rosa school district offers 18 elementary schools, 8 middles schools and 6 high schools. The Santa Rosa School District has exceptional child programs serving children from 3 years of age to 5 years of age as well as children with disabilities programs. Private schools are also offered as well as a vocational school.
Housing at NAS Whiting Field is privatized and is run by Balfour Beatty Communities. Whiting Pines is located just south of NAS Whiting Field and includes basketball courts, a swimming pool and units that have central air and heat as well as washer/dryer hookups. Housing applications can be obtained from the housing office and once submitted, places the applicant on any applicable waiting list. Pets are allowed in most on-post housing. If military personnel are looking for off-post housing, the housing office can provide a list of available homes for sale or rent as well as apartment guides. The office can also help personnel find properties based on their BAH rate. There is no Navy Lodge at NAS Whiting Field, but temporary lodging is provided by the Gateway Inns and Suites. The suites are furnished two-bedroom suites, and reservations can be made by calling 850-623-7605.
